Poisoning in summer days

The number of patients appealing to a doctor with complaints of food posinings increases in summer. Reason for this is weather conditions and rapidly- tainted food products we consume. High weather temperature, toxins of bacteria growing on food improperly storaged and prepared in non-hygienic conditions lead to food poisonings. If food remains uncovered in an open place more than 2 hours, this will give birth to development of bacteria.
Signs of poisoning: diarrhea, nausea, vomitting, abdominal pains, fever.
Depending on type of food, these signs of poisoning may appear in 30 minutes or 3 days. Especially, when there is a suspicion about children’s or elderly people’s poisoning, no time should be wasted. If vomitting is constant, diarrhea (bloody diarrhea) lasts morfe than 2 days, diarrhea occurs 4 or 5 times a day, body temperature is higher, there are any abdominal pains, then make sure to appeal a doctor. It is expedient to drink much water. Unless diarrhea passes, no yogurt, raw vegetables increasing intestinal motility, fig, grapes, watermelon shoul be eaten.  Don’t administer antibiotics, preparations against diarrhea and vomitting without a doctor’s prescription. Because this may cause change of the clinic view leading to serious complications.
Ways of protection against food poisonings:
We should source the food from reliable places.
When buying food products we should read their labels, pay attention to date of manufacture,  best-before-date and storage rules of this food.
Non-pasteurised milk and milk produces are absolutely inadvisable.
Don’t buy broken, cracked, dirty eggs, and prior to consuming, make sure to wash eggs.
We should not cut products such as watermelon, melon without washing. When buying watermelon, don’t make a seller cut it. As we know, watermelon is grown in soil and as it is not washed, bacteria existing on its rind transmit by the knife into watermelon and this leads to poisoning with watermelon.
Raw food and cooked food should not be exposed to each-other and should store with cover on them.
Fruit, vegetables, greens should be eaten after being washed properly.
